For Black Boys Production 2023

Shaping vital narratives regarding Black men's mental health

In 2023, I had the privilege of contributing to the powerful production "For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Hue Gets Too Heavy", premiering at The Apollo Theatre.

In this important endeavour, I played a pivotal role in shaping the program content to explain complex systemic issues to a wide audience. Recruited as an EDI Mental Health Specialist by Nimax Theatres, I was tasked to provide progressive insights into Black British men's mental health issues.

These topics included trauma, identity, police brutality, sexuality, colourism, and toxic masculinity.

Drawing from my expertise and personal experiences, I crafted content that delved into the complexities of these struggles. Additionally, I conducted insightful interviews with the cast, infusing the narrative with authenticity and depth.

This involvement allowed me to contribute to the impact of this groundbreaking theatrical exploration while furthering the conversation on vital issues surrounding Black men's mental health.
